An honest comparison By James Mulholland Updated May 2026

Clevaa Yonder

Two AI agents for New Zealand tour operators. Different ownership, different pricing model, different shape of voice.

Clevaa

EU-hosted · Flat-rate · Voice + text in one widget

  • Hetzner Germany, no US transfer
  • Flat $49 to $99 per month, unlimited
  • Voice and text in one web widget, 13 native languages
  • Live in about 60 seconds, self-serve

Yonder

NZ-founded, US-owned

  • Personal data processed in the United States (TOMIS, Montana)
  • Metered $95 to $295 per month, by chat volume
  • Text chatbot on website, voice via separate phone product
  • 1 to 4 week sales-led implementation

Are they direct competitors? Same operators, different shape.

Yonder runs a metered AI chatbot plus a reviews and SMS product, sold across the United States, Australia and New Zealand from a Missoula, Montana headquarters. Clevaa is a flat-rate AI agent for New Zealand tour operators, hosted in Germany, with the same 13 native languages on voice and chat. Both will answer your visitors. The differences are who owns the company, where the data sits, and how the bill works: Yonder for deep native bookings on a US-owned platform, Clevaa for flat-rate, EU-hosted, live in a minute.

02 Which one

Which one is right for you?

Six common situations and a direct recommendation for each.

  1. Choose Yonder

Your operator runs on FareHarbor, Rezdy, Checkfront, Ventrata or another tour-booking system and wants tight native inventory integration?

Yonder has built natively against the booking-system stack a New Zealand tour operator actually uses: FareHarbor, Waverez, Rezdy, Flybook, Singenuity, Xola, Ventrata, Checkfront, Zaui, ROLLER, Customlinc, Cobber and PeekPro. If real-time inventory inside the conversation is the job, Yonder is the deeper fit. Clevaa connects via webhook on the Plus tier.

  2. Choose Clevaa

You want flat-rate pricing that does not climb with conversation volume?

Yonder's AI Chatbot is metered: 80 chats a month for $95, 200 for $195, 500 for $295. A busy summer weekend can push the bill into the next tier. Clevaa publishes flat-rate tiers at $49 and $99 a month with no per-conversation fee, and the price stays the price.

  3. Choose Yonder

Your operator is already on Yonder, integrated with FareHarbor, and the team knows the dashboard?

If the booking integration is working and the team has the muscle memory, switching for the sake of switching is rarely the right call. Most of the move-the-needle work is the FAQ training, and that travels with the operator, not the vendor.

  4. Choose Clevaa

You need customer data to stay in the European Union for GDPR or guest-trust reasons?

Yonder's privacy policy is explicit: personal data is processed in the United States. Clevaa hosts every conversation on Hetzner servers in Germany, inside the EU, with no US transfer. For European guests, German visitors to Aotearoa, or operators who simply want EU residency on the marketing site, that is a material difference.

  5. Choose Yonder

You want a 1 to 4 week implementation cycle with a sales rep, a build, and a launch date?

Yonder's published implementation takes 1 to 4 weeks depending on size and complexity, with a configuration fee confirmed during the demo. For a larger operator that wants a planned build with a project manager, that is the natural path.

  6. Choose Clevaa

You want guests to speak to the agent directly from your website, not call a separate phone number?

Clevaa's chat widget supports voice input and voice output in the same place as text. A visitor clicks the widget, taps the microphone, asks "What time does the cruise leave on Saturday?" and gets a spoken answer in 13 native languages. Yonder's website widget is text-only; voice requires a phone call into the separate AI Voice Agent product.

Yonder for deep native booking integration on a 1 to 4 week build. Clevaa for flat-rate, EU-hosted, voice and text in one widget, live in a minute. Many operators will find a clear answer in one of those two lines.

03 Setup speed

How long until the agent answers your first enquiry?

Yonder's pricing page documents a 1 to 4 week implementation. Clevaa is self-serve from a URL paste. The gap is the difference between sales-led and product-led.

Clevaa

≈ 60 seconds

Self-serve, URL-paste, no sales call

Paste your website. The agent extracts your brand colours, your services, your FAQ. Test it in the dashboard. Embed the widget. Done.

Yonder

1 to 4 weeks

Sales-led, configuration fee on AI Chatbot

Yonder's pricing page states implementation "takes between 1-4 weeks, depending on the overall size and complexity of the build". A configuration fee applies to AI Chatbot; the price is confirmed during the sales demo. 1

Both numbers are taken from each vendor's own published documentation, May 2026.

05 Where the data lives

Where does your customer data actually sit?

The two products take opposite positions on data residency. Both are explicit about it on their privacy pages, and either is a fine answer for the right buyer.

Clevaa

Hetzner Online GmbH

Falkenstein and Nürnberg, Germany

Under UK GDPR, ICO ZB851355, DPA on request

Every conversation, every transcript, every training document sits on Hetzner servers in Germany. No transfer to the United States. The Revenuru Ltd company file is publicly searchable at Companies House (15440262). 6

Yonder

Yonder Tech Limited, owned by TOMIS Holdings, Inc.

Personal data processed in the United States

Yonder claims GDPR, NZ Privacy Act 2020 and CCPA compliance

Yonder's privacy policy, Section 15, states: "Any personal data we collect from you is processed in the United States." Section 13 adds that information "may be stored, processed, and transmitted in the United States and other locations around the world". The company is owned by TOMIS Holdings, Inc., headquartered in Missoula, Montana. 4

For an inbound visitor from Germany or France, EU residency is the closer fit. For an Australian or US tourist, US residency may be irrelevant. The NZ Privacy Act 2020 applies to both, and both vendors claim compliance.

06 Pricing transparency

What you actually pay

Both vendors publish prices. The two pricing models are different shapes, and the difference matters more than the headline number.

Clevaa

07 Where the trust comes from

Verifiable trust, not adjectives

Every line on this badge is a public registry entry or a published policy. No marketing-only claims.

Each registration number resolves on the public registry. The DPA is the real document, not a marketing page.

08 Questions

The questions buyers actually ask

  1. Is Yonder a New Zealand company?

Yonder was founded in New Zealand in 2018 and remains the brand operators recognise. It was acquired by TOMIS Holdings, Inc. on 18 June 2024 and is now a standalone brand of TOMIS, which is headquartered in Missoula, Montana, USA. The Yonder website footer reads "A TOMIS Holdings, Inc. Company". So: founded in NZ, US-owned since June 2024.

  2. Where does Yonder host customer data?

Yonder's privacy policy states that personal data is processed in the United States. For comparison, Clevaa hosts every conversation on Hetzner servers in Germany, inside the EU, with no US transfer. For NZ guests with European passports, German visitors, or operators that simply want EU residency on the marketing site, that is a material difference.

  3. How much does Yonder actually cost?

Yonder's AI Chatbot is sold by chat volume: Growth at $95 per month for 80 chats, Pro at $195 per month for 200 chats, Premium at $295 per month for 500 chats, Enterprise on quote. A configuration fee applies to AI Chatbot and is confirmed during the sales demo. Annual billing: pay for 10 months, get 2 free. Clevaa publishes flat-rate at $49 and $99 a month, unlimited, no setup fee.

  4. Can the Yonder bot reply in Mandarin or Japanese?

Yes. Probe-confirmed in May 2026 on two New Zealand Yonder-powered sites: the bot replies fluently in both languages. We did notice that outbound URLs inside Japanese and Mandarin replies appended trailing non-ASCII characters to the path without URL-encoding, returning a 404 on click. We have screenshots. If multilingual handoff to a booking URL matters to you, test it before committing.

  5. Does Yonder integrate with FareHarbor, Rezdy, Checkfront and Ventrata?

Yes, plus Waverez, Flybook, Singenuity, Xola, Zaui, ROLLER, Customlinc, Cobber and PeekPro. Yonder's booking-integration footprint across the tour-operator stack is broader than Clevaa's. Clevaa connects to Cal.com, Calendly, Eventbrite, OpenTable, Stripe and Shopify natively, and to other PMS systems by webhook on the Plus tier.

  6. Can Yonder's website chatbot use voice, or do guests have to call?

Yonder's website widget is text-only. Voice is a separate Yonder product called AI Voice Agent, which answers inbound phone calls. So a guest on the website types; a guest on the phone speaks; the two channels are different products. Clevaa puts voice input and voice output inside the same web widget that handles text chat, in 13 native languages. One install, one URL.

  7. Can Clevaa replace Yonder?

If you are starting fresh, want flat-rate pricing, EU-hosted data, voice plus chat in 13 native languages and a live agent in 60 seconds, yes. If you are already on Yonder with a working FareHarbor or Rezdy integration and the team is fluent in the dashboard, the case is less clear: the move-the-needle work is the FAQ training, and that travels with you.

  8. Is Yonder the same product as TOMIS's own chatbot?

TOMIS sells an AI ChatBot, SMS Chat, Unified Inbox and Review Generation product line directly from tomis.tech. Both TOMIS and Yonder were announced as standalone brands at the time of the acquisition. We do not have insider knowledge on long-term roadmap; for now they are sold as separate brands.

  9. Where can I see Yonder's customers and case studies?

Yonder's homepage shows logos for Hobbiton, The George, Polynesian Spa, Skydive Australia and Black Cat. Named case studies include Luthers Pontoon, Quarry Park Adventures, Quicksilver Cruises, Ziptrek Ecotours and Hanmer Springs. Yonder's about page says it "powers hundreds of tourism businesses around the globe".
